Ashlyn Rawson started her musical training at age 7. She began piano lessons in 2nd grade, sang in the Greater Atlanta Girls Choir in 3rd grade and began playing french horn in 4th grade. Ashlyn studied french horn during her undergrad at Berry College with Dr. Ellie Jenkins.
Ashlyn plays many instruments including french horn, trumpet, various percussion instruments, piano, along with singing. As a music education major and current band director, Ashlyn studied many instruments through methods courses including trombone, baritone/euphonium, tuba, clarinet, flute, and saxophone.
Ashlyn preformed in over 12 ensembles at Berry College and currently performs as a freelance artist on french horn. Ashlyn graduated from Berry College in 2022 with a bachelor’s in Music Education. She was involved in all aspects of the music department as a performer, student employee, and student teacher.
Through Berry’s student work program and professor mentorship, Ashlyn was the student conductor of the Berry College Wind Ensemble and Student Director of the Berry College Middle School Steel Drum Ensemble. Some of the ensembles she performed in included the Berry College Wind Ensemble, Berry College Orchestra, Berry College Brass Ensemble, Berry Singers, Berry Drumline, and Berry Breeze.
Ashlyn offers virtual lessons for all brass instruments, and beginner lessons for woodwind instruments, percussion instruments, voice, and piano. With her diverse musical background, students will receive a well-rounded education with a focus on developing the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to become successful life-long musicians.
