Carolyn Silvius-Torres obtained a degree in Flute Performance from Florida State University in 1977. She has played professionally for years, including time with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra under directors Louis Lane, Seiji Ozawa, and Robert Shaw. Her past and recent ensemble involvement includes a woodwind quintet, flute choir, and even salsa bands.
Carolyn teaches flute, piano, saxophone, and piccolo, sharing with her students the enjoyment of playing in various styles of musical interest (i.e. jazz, classical, etc.). She brings her 40+ years of teaching experience to students at The Harmony House.
Carolyn was named "Most Involved and Supportive Instructor" for 2014-15 at The Harmony House.
