American Tenor, Michael Jones, has been featured on many of the country’s most famous stages, including Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center. Jones has been praised by critics for his “truly stellar solo quality" (Orlando Sentinel). The Salt Lake Tribune singled out Jones for his “beautiful lyric tenor”, saying “his performance of Stranger in Paradise brought renewed life to the score in all the best ways.” The Minneapolis Star Tribune stated, “His (Jones') soaring high notes seemed effortlessly beautiful.”
Throughout his career, Jones has performed with numerous opera, symphony, and musical theater houses across the globe. Additionally, Jones has recorded professionally with National Public Radio, American Public Media, The European Broadcasting Union, and the BBC.
Mr. Jones has toured with the nine member professional vocal chamber ensemble, "Cantus". What began at St. Olaf College as a student
a cappella ensemble, has become one of the most respected and sought after chamber ensembles in the world. Critics have touted the nine member ensemble saying, “Cantus sounded 50 strong”, and referred to their music making as “spontaneous grace, both beaming and elastic.” (The Washington Post) The New York Times boasts “their (Cantus) tone quality and musicianship is second to none, truly world class.”
Most importantly, Mike Jones is a grateful believer in Jesus Christ. He is a husband to his wife Amy, and a father to Evie Kate (11) and Benjamin (3).
