Since its inception, 33 1/3 Records has evolved into an agency that not only produces music, but also operates as a platform for exposure for artists and bands. Reid has performed with Grammy winners, hit songwriters in multiple genres, produced 33 albums, written over a thousand songs for 33 1/3 Records and is working on new original music to be released in 2025.
I began singing with choir and chorus at church and school at a young age (1st and 2nd grade). My parents encouraged me to pursue music lessons at school and with help from my older brothers (also musicians). My dad was really into big band / jazz and classical music. My mother loved crooners as well as singer-songwriters. My first instrument after singing was the recorder (3rd grade) quickly followed by drums / percussion (4th and 5th grade) receiving a practice pad, drum sticks and book on rudiments at Christmas. I started playing guitar at age 10 learning basic chords and by age 11 learning barre chords and more advanced chords practicing at home and with my older brothers. I played in bands and various talent shows at middle and high school followed by playing at church as well as during college where I met a number of professional musicians through my brothers, mutual friends in other groups and my former boss who owned a record store and co-owned a nightclub.
My love for music was reignited when I began playing traditional and contemporary worship music at churches after rededicating my life to The Lord in the early 1990s. I joined various praise bands in SC and GA, as a team member (sitting in at various instruments: mainly guitar & drums) followed by becoming a worship leader the past 15 years where I have served; helping both youth / student and adult church members with music lessons (teaching theory, sight reading, composition, etc) ultimately to equip the saints. I enjoy teaching at private schools and serving as a music instructor. When I’m not teaching or playing in concert, I enjoy traveling, watching a movie or relaxing with a good book and enjoying some food with friends. My life verse is: Psalms 95:1 “Come let us sing for the joy of The Lord; Let us shout to the Rock of our salvation”.
